PERSONAL PROFILE
POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for the management and supervision of payroll personnel involved in payroll processing, reconciliation of the payroll controls, reporting on HR and labour statistics as well as liaise with external stakeholders. The person will further be responsible for preparing labour budgets and reporting on labour costs for the corporation.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.Com Degree, majoring in Human Resources or Accounting
- Certificate/Diploma in Payroll Management will be an added advantage
EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum of 5 years payroll or financial work experience
- Working knowledge of Unique, SAP or related systems
LEGAL REQUIREMENT
- Must have valid driver’s licence - own transport
SPECIAL SKILLS
- High level of computer literacy, especially in Excel
- Well developed interpersonal communication ability
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Innovative ideas to improve processes and procedures
PERSONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
- May be required to work overtime from time-to-time
- Must be presentable and should be able to interact with staff at all levels, including Executive Management
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Leading and managing a team of +/- 10 people
- Ensuring set deadlines are met
- Ensuring accurate in and output in preparation of payroll
- Maintenance of internal control procedures
- Preparation of accurate labour budget and labour reports
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- The successful incumbent will report to the Unit Manager, Remuneration and Benefits
ABILITY TEST / ASSESSMENT
- Applicants must be willing to undergo an Occupational Personality Questionnaire as part of the selection process
- Obtain a satisfactory medical report from the corporation’s medical station
